Architects of Time

What a gift to work with these beautiful artists on Cayenne Douglass’ incredible play Architects of Time. I have missed theatre so much. Today we made theatre in a box come to life in such a magical way. I’m so grateful for these words... Cayenne writes like your heart beats. There’s a thousand moments in every word and every breath in between. And to have Lee Douglass directing us with the most specific notes, gentle molding and freedom and trust to improv, play and find each thing organically within structure. And then to get to play opposite the magnificent Nael Nacer who fills every moment with heart, soulful presence, spontaneity and deep history. And a special thanks to Jack Crory and Samantha DeManbey for guiding us through technically and what’s to come in post. And the Forge Theater Lab for giving us this place to play. From the first reading, every time felt like a different ride with this gifted crew. So excited to share this play with everyone. We recorded today. I’ll post an update when the play goes live but couldn’t help but share the beautiful buzz of getting to do what I love with these amazing humans!

Hurlyburly

I felt it the first time I stepped on a stage... and I feel it, every time!

That spark of electricity, of a story coming to life before your eyes ... add a brilliant ensemble that have been working apart in their little zoom boxes for months. Let their energies dance, their spirits collide in person... and it’s pure magic!!!

We’re putting up a revival of David Rabe’s Hurlyburly. Despite it being set in a different time, the desperation, isolation, and mental anguish in this play are just as palpable in the world we’re living in.

Finally together, getting this piece on its feet, it’s going to be incredible, it already is.

These are just a few of my favorite moments!

What fun to work with Dana Marisa Schoenfeld, Beth Chamberlin, John Bolger and Peter Rini…

stay tuned for more on this dark, but very funny comedy!
